Registration Information

Registered Architects

Applicants for registration must meet the following criteria:

* Be registered to practice architecture in another state and NCARB certified; 

OR

* Be at least 21 years of age and of good moral character;
* Have obtained a professional degree in architecture from a NAAB accredited program;
* Have completed the NCARB IDP; and
* Pass the ARE

Registered Interior Designers

Applicants for registration must meet the following criteria:

* Be of good moral character;
* Have obtained a degree in interior design from a CIDA-accredited program, or a substantially equivalent program approved by the board;
* Have at least two years of interior design experience; and
* Fulfill the examination requirement by:
        - Pass the October 2000 (or later) NCIDQ exam; or
        - Pass any prior version of the NCIDQ exam AND pass the Nevada Supplemental Exam

Registered Residential Designers

Applicants for registration must meet the following criteria:

* Be a registered architect in another jurisdiction (NCARB certification not required); 

OR

* Be at least 21 years of age and of good moral character;
* Have a combination of five years education and experience; and
* Pass the Residential Design Exam administered by the board

Firms

Partnerships, corporations, companies, etc. doing business under a fictitious name that provide architectural, registered interior design or residential design services in Nevada are required to have the firm name approved by the board. Additionally, businesses providing these services that are not owned 100 percent by Nevada registrants (licensed pursuant to NRS 623, NRS 623a and NRS 625) must register their firms with the board.
